Vue, an international cinema chain, has recently appointed Ismar Matagic as its new Chief Information Officer. Matagic, who previously served as the technology chief at Pret A Manger, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has held senior positions at John Lewis, where he oversaw insight and technology strategies. Matagic will be in charge of managing information technology and systems across the Vue cinema group, starting his new role on September 9th. He will report directly to Vue CEO and founder Tim Richards.
Richards expressed his excitement about Matagic joining the Vue team, especially as the company embarks on a transformative year in 2024. With plans to renovate, expand, and enhance digital capabilities, Vue is positioning itself for future growth and innovation. Matagic’s expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Vue is well-equipped to seize upcoming opportunities in the cinema industry.
In addition to Matagic, Vue also welcomed Joost Ligthart as the chief in Holland. Ligthart’s background includes leadership roles at EuroParcs and JVH gaming and entertainment. With experience in operations management and hospitality, Ligthart is poised to drive Vue’s success in the Dutch market. His role as Netherlands Territory General Manager will focus on delivering exceptional cinema experiences to Dutch customers.
Richards highlighted Vue’s commitment to investing in the Netherlands, aiming to offer top-tier amenities such as premium seating, cutting-edge screens, and immersive sound systems. With ongoing refurbishments and plans for a flagship site in Amsterdam, Vue is solidifying its presence in the Dutch cinema landscape. Ligthart’s leadership will play a key role in ensuring that Vue’s growth strategy in the Netherlands is effective and sustainable.
