Uncovering the Truth Behind the Plastic People Documentary

In a groundbreaking move, Rainmaker Content, a UK-based distributor, has acquired the international rights to the highly-anticipated documentary, Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics. The documentary, produced by Canada’s renowned White Pine Pictures, delves into the pervasive issue of plastic pollution and its detrimental effects on human health. This 90-minute film is set to make its world premiere at the prestigious SXSW Festival, where it has been selected for the Documentary Spotlight category.

Plastic People sheds light on the alarming reality of our planet’s addiction to plastic, a material that has become deeply entrenched in our daily lives. The film reveals the disturbing truth that only a mere 10% of plastic is recycled, while the remaining 90% degrades into harmful microplastics that plague our environment and pose a significant risk to our well-being. Renowned author and science journalist, Ziya Tong, takes viewers on a personal journey as she co-directs Plastic People alongside Ben Addelman.
