The Magic Faraway Tree: New Cast Announced for Enid Blyton Adaptation

The upcoming Enid Blyton adaptation, The Magic Faraway Tree, has recently announced its key cast members. Two-time Oscar nominee, Andrew Garfield, known for his role in The Amazing Spider Man, and two-time Emmy winner, Claire Foy, from All of Us Strangers, will be taking on the lead roles in this highly anticipated film.

Based on The Faraway Tree series of novels for children, the movie will follow the journey of Polly and Tim and their three children – Beth, Joe, and Fran. The modern family is forced to relocate to the remote English countryside where they stumble upon a magical tree inhabited by eccentric residents such as Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot, and Saucepan Man. The tree transports them to spectacular lands where they embark on adventures that help them reconnect and value each other.

Principal photography for The Magic Faraway Tree is set to begin next month with additional casting currently underway. The movie is being produced by Neal Street Productions, Elysian Film Group, and Ashland Hill Media Finance. The adaptation is in the hands of BAFTA-winner Simon Farnaby and will be directed by Ben Gregor.
