Signature Entertainment Acquires Rights to Shark Attack Thriller ‘The Last Breath’

Signature Entertainment has recently acquired the rights to the thrilling shark attack film, ‘The Last Breath.’ This exciting project comes from the minds of writer Nick Saltrese and director Joachim Hedén, known for their previous works such as ‘A Prayer Before Dawn’ and ‘Breaking Surface,’ respectively. The film is produced by Andrew Prendergast and Chris Reed, and it stars Julian Sands, Jack Parr, Kim Spearman, and Alexander Arnold.

Sadly, ‘The Last Breath’ marks Julian Sands’ final film role. The actor, known for his notable performances in ‘A Room With A View,’ ‘The Killing Fields,’ and ‘Leaving Las Vegas,’ tragically went missing while hiking in California. His remains were discovered on Mount Baldy in June. Sands’ portrayal in this film will be a poignant reminder of his talent and legacy.

In ‘The Last Breath,’ a group of old college friends embarks on a scuba diving trip in the Caribbean. Their mission is to explore the wreckage of a World War II battleship. However, their adventure quickly takes a terrifying turn when they find themselves trapped inside an underwater labyrinth of rusted metal teeming with great white sharks. The film promises to deliver heart-stopping suspense and intense underwater action.

Although the release date for ‘The Last Breath’ has not been finalized, it is among the last of Sands’ movies to be released. This thrilling shark attack thriller will leave audiences on the edge of their seats as they witness the battle for survival against one of nature’s most fearsome predators.

The deal for ‘The Last Breath’ was negotiated between Signature Entertainment’s Acquisitions and Development Manager, Katie Wilkinson, and Metro International’s CEO, Will Machin. This new acquisition adds to Signature Entertainment’s ever-growing roster of exciting and diverse films.

Production finance for ‘The Last Breath’ was made possible through the support of Orogen Entertainment, Anamorphic Media, Filmgate, and Umedia, who also co-produced the film. The international distribution of the film was supported by the UK Global Screen Fund, which is financed by the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport and administered by the BFI.

As anticipation builds for the release of ‘The Last Breath,’ audiences can look forward to a heart-pounding thriller that combines the excitement of exploring sunken wreckage with the terror of being surrounded by great white sharks. Julian Sands’ final performance will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression, showcasing his talent and passion for the craft. Signature Entertainment’s acquisition of this gripping film promises an exhilarating cinematic experience for all.
