Legendary rocker, Rod Stewart, has no plans to retire anytime soon despite pleas from his children. The 78-year-old musician recently revealed that he intends to continue making music well into his 80s.
No Retirement Plans
In a recent interview with People, Stewart made it clear that he has no intention of retiring. He loves what he does and plans to keep doing it. However, he did admit that his career will start to look different once he completes his upcoming 40-show global tour. Stewart plans to move on to swing music and the Great American Song Book, but he has no plans to bury his old songs.
Keeping Fit
To keep up with his busy schedule, Stewart works out extensively, at least four days a week. He is generally very fit and has played soccer all his life. Critics have claimed that he goes off stage to rest during his performances, but he insists that he only does so because he is wringing wet from the intense workout.
Family Concerns
Despite his love for music, Stewart’s children are worried about his health and want him to slow down. After all, he has devoted 50 years of his life to music and has nothing left to prove to anyone. With his age and health issues, they believe it’s time for him to take a break and focus on his family and health, especially after the birth of his third grandchild.
Rocking Out Forever
However, Stewart doesn’t want to stop making music and doesn’t know how to not create it. Music is his life and he would love to rock out forever. He believes his fans need him, and he doesn’t want to disappoint them. While his family hopes he’ll stick to his promise to retire after his upcoming tour, only time will tell if he can truly say goodbye to the music industry for good.
Rod Stewart has no plans to retire and will continue making music for as long as he can. Although his family is concerned about his health, Stewart’s love for music is unwavering, and he believes that his fans need him.
