Rediscovering Faith: A Journey Back in Time with Forty-Seven Days with Jesus

Reel Big Studios, in partnership with Pinnacle Peak Pictures and Fathom Events, is set to release a captivating film titled “Forty-Seven Days with Jesus” during the Lenten season. The movie, directed by Emilio Palame and David M. Gutel, takes viewers on an emotional journey that explores the complexities of family relationships and the power of faith.

A Distant Family Reunion

The story revolves around the Burdon family, led by Joseph Burdon (played by Yoshi Barrigas) and Juliana Burdon (portrayed by Catherine Lidstone). The family gathers at Poppa and Nonna’s ranch for a reunion, only to realize the disconnection that has crept into their relationships. Marital conflicts, teenage troubles, and Poppa’s declining health become overwhelming, prompting a decision that will change their lives forever.

Seeking to repair their fractured bonds, the adults decide to share Poppa’s captivating “Forty-Seven Days” story with the younger generation. Through the magic of storytelling, the film transports us back in time to witness the miracles that occurred during Jesus’ final 47 days on Earth. This immersive experience not only captivates the audience but also serves as a powerful metaphor for rediscovering the true essence of faith.

As Joseph faces an unexpected business opportunity, he finds himself at a crossroads. This pivotal moment challenges his dedication to his family and forces him to question his priorities. Will he choose the path of self-interest or stay committed to his loved ones? It is through this personal struggle that the Burdon family must come together and find unity in the face of uncertainty.

“Forty-Seven Days with Jesus” boasts a talented ensemble cast, with notable performances by Cameron Arnett (known for his role in “Overcomer”) and Joshua Triplett (from “Grey’s Anatomy”). Their portrayal of complex characters adds depth and authenticity to the film, further enhancing the emotional impact on the audience.

A Creative Collaboration

The film’s success is the result of a creative collaboration between the directors, Emilio Palame and David M. Gutel, who also co-wrote the script alongside EP Rolland Jacks. The production team, led by Palame, Donald Nguyen, and Kristen Brancaccio, has seamlessly blended words and music written by Jacks. The arrangements and orchestration by Palame, vocal arrangements/production by Grammy Award-winner Darlene Koldenhoven, and the underscore composed by Palame, Guy Moon, and Michael O’Neill create a rich tapestry of sound that elevates the storytelling experience.

This weekend, Fathom Events will be treating audiences to the fourth season of the acclaimed series “The Chosen” in theaters. With a two-week run featuring Episodes 1-3 on February 1, followed by Episodes 4-6 on February 15, and concluding with Episodes 7-8, fans will have the opportunity to further immerse themselves in stories of faith and inspiration.

“Forty-Seven Days with Jesus” is a compelling film that explores the challenges of family relationships and the power of faith in the face of adversity. Through captivating storytelling and a talented cast, this movie invites viewers on a journey back in time, encouraging them to rediscover the true essence of walking in faith. As we embark on this emotional rollercoaster with the Burdon family, we are reminded that unity and the unwavering commitment to our loved ones can guide us through uncertain times.
