Rachel Riley reveals how going vegan helped her overcome a ten-year-long health battle

Rachel Riley, the presenter of Countdown and wife of former Strictly dancer Pasha Kovalev, has spoken out about how she and her husband went vegan to help alleviate symptoms that had been affecting her for over ten years. In an interview with MailOnline, Rachel explained that she had been unwell with food-related issues, and after cutting out eggs and dairy, she started eating at vegan restaurants and discovered the food was really good. She and Pasha gave up meat and fish and have been vegan ever since.

Feeling much better

Rachel added that she had been unwell for over a decade, and doctors had been unable to provide any help or solutions. However, after cutting out certain foods, she felt much better almost overnight. She said that she didn’t realize how bad she had been feeling until she was no longer feeling unwell. Rachel also took some food supplements when she became pregnant with her two daughters, Maven and Noa.

Incorporating vegan food into their family life

Rachel and Pasha have even introduced vegan food into their daughter Maven’s diet, and she loves it so far. Speaking to HELLO! in December 2020, Rachel explained how they manage to incorporate Pasha’s Russian traditions into their home life by having a vegan version of mixed salads with beetroot, carrots, and tofu.

Rachel is a firm believer in the benefits of going vegan, and her own experience has shown her just how much it can improve your health. By cutting out certain foods and adopting a vegan diet, she has not only alleviated her symptoms but also introduced her family to a healthier way of eating.
