Noah Cyrus Slams Internet Trolls and Reflects on Struggles with Mental Health

Noah Cyrus, the singer who recently announced her engagement to Pinkus, took to social media to address the internet trolls who have been attempting to strip away her joy. Writing on her Instagram story, Cyrus expressed her frustration with the individuals who are working tirelessly to undermine her happiness and love. She highlighted the fact that these same people had attacked her appearance and body when she was just 11 years old, leading her to believe that she was not worthy of living and that she did not meet their beauty standards. The hateful comments she received during that time even pushed her to contemplate suicide and rely on drugs. However, Cyrus shared that she now feels fortunate to be in a place where negative opinions no longer trigger self-harm.

Challenging Judgments and Embracing Acceptance

In a subsequent post, Cyrus emphasized the need to stop judging individuals based on their love interests, physical appearances, backgrounds, and lifestyles. She urged people to recognize that we are living in 2023 and should embrace acceptance rather than perpetuating judgment. It is crucial, she emphasized, to move away from this toxic mindset and give people the freedom to live their lives authentically.

A Struggle with Depression and Anxiety

Cyrus has been open about her battle with depression and anxiety on multiple occasions. In 2019, prior to the release of her single “Lonely,” she joined forces with Ad Council to discuss her ongoing struggle with depression. She described feeling trapped in a dark place where she had no control over her life. Cyrus also shared a birthday post on Instagram where she admitted that she had doubts about surviving until the age of 21. She acknowledged that every day is a constant effort when it comes to maintaining mental health and dealing with personal battles. Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude to her fans for understanding the difficulties she faced growing up in the public eye and for their continued support.

Confronting Addiction and Pursuing Recovery

In July, Cyrus spoke openly about her past struggle with addiction and how easily accessible drugs were to her while growing up in the spotlight. She revealed that once she realized drugs could temporarily numb her pain, she fell into a dark and bottomless pit. However, since 2020, she has been on a journey of recovery. Cyrus shared that she now wakes up in the mornings, looks in the mirror, and goes about her day without hating herself. She has learned to comfort and nurture herself, marking significant progress in her healing process.

In the face of relentless internet trolls, Noah Cyrus refuses to let their negativity overshadow her happiness. Through her vulnerability and openness about her mental health struggles, she inspires others to embrace acceptance and prioritize their well-being. Cyrus serves as a testament to the importance of self-love and the resilience one can cultivate in the face of adversity.
