Neon Acquires U.S. Rights to Horror Film “Immaculate” Starring Sydney Sweeney

Neon, the distributor behind critically acclaimed films such as “Parasite” and “I, Tonya,” has recently acquired the U.S. rights to the highly anticipated horror film “Immaculate.” Produced by and starring Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” this eerie tale is set to hit theaters soon, with an exact release date yet to be announced.

Directed by Michael Mohan, “Immaculate” follows the story of Cecilia, a woman deeply devoted to her faith, who is offered a life-changing opportunity at an esteemed Italian convent. Initially thrilled by the prospect, Cecilia’s joy is soon overshadowed by a sinister revelation – her new home hides disturbing secrets beneath its seemingly idyllic facade.

Not only does “Immaculate” boast Sydney Sweeney’s captivating performance, but it also features breakout star Simona Tabasco from “The White Lotus.” Joining the cast are talented actors like Alvaro Morte, known for his role in the popular series “Money Heist,” as well as Benedetta Porcaroli and Dora Romano. Together, this ensemble cast brings depth and intensity to the film, ensuring an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Sweeney, in collaboration with Middle Child Pictures’ David Bernad, developed the project following their successful partnership on “The White Lotus.” Other key producers include Jonathan Davino from Sweeney’s Fifty-Fifty Films and Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler from Black Bear, who fully financed the film and also handle international sales rights.

The acquisition of “Immaculate” by Neon is part of their ongoing collaboration with Black Bear, the production company behind the upcoming film “Ferrari” directed by Michael Mann, set for a nationwide release on Christmas Day. Additionally, Neon and Black Bear will collaborate on future projects such as Osgood Perkins’ “Longlegs,” starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, and Asif Kapadia’s “2073.”

The deal between Neon and the creators of “Immaculate” was negotiated by Neon’s Vice President of Acquisitions & Production, Jason Wald. He successfully secured the U.S. distribution rights for the film, working alongside CAA Media Finance and Paradigm, who represented the filmmakers during the negotiation process.

With its gripping plot, exceptional cast, and the backing of established production companies, “Immaculate” is poised to captivate horror enthusiasts and film lovers alike. As audiences eagerly await its release, the film promises to deliver a unique and chilling experience that will haunt viewers long after leaving the theater. Stay tuned for further updates regarding the release date and be prepared to embark on a terrifying journey into the darkness that lies within the walls of “Immaculate.”
