Linda Hamilton Joins Cast of Stranger Things for Final Season

Netflix has announced that Linda Hamilton will be joining the cast of Stranger Things for its fifth and final season. The announcement was made during a fan event in São Paulo, Brazil on Saturday. Hamilton’s role has not yet been revealed.

Hamilton’s Career

Hamilton is best known for her portrayal of Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, and most recently starred in Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019. She has also been nominated for several awards for her work in television, including an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards for her role in the CBS series Beauty and the Beast, and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in USA Network’s A Mother’s Prayer. Hamilton is represented by Innovative Artists.

Production Details

It is currently unclear when Stranger Things 5 will be released on Netflix, as production was pushed due to the ongoing writers strike. While all of the scripts have been written, the production start date of August 2nd has been scrapped, and there is no information on when filming will begin.

Season 4 Recap

The fourth season of Stranger Things ended with Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the Hawkins, Indiana crew being defeated by Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower). The gateway to the Upside Down has been opened, allowing its monsters to roam free in the real world. In a note for Deadline’s It Starts On The Page series, the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, stated that they wanted an “Empire Strikes Back style ending” for the penultimate season. They added that the bad guy wins, friends die or are badly wounded, and that this led to some incredibly devastating performances from the cast as they face death and loss.

Linda Hamilton is set to join the cast of Stranger Things for its final season, although her role is currently unknown. The release date for season 5 is uncertain due to the delay caused by the writers strike, but all scripts have been written. The Duffer Brothers have promised a dark cloud over the final season, with devastating performances from the cast following the events of season 4.
