Kevin Costner, the star of Yellowstone, is currently in the middle of a messy divorce with his wife, Christine Baumgartner. However, this is not the first time that Kevin has gone through a divorce. Kevin was previously married to Cindy Silva for 16 years until their marriage ended in 1994. The divorce was one of the most expensive in Hollywood’s history, with Kevin paying out $80 million to Cindy. The Dances with Wolves actor was 39 years old at the time, and Cindy was 38.
Kevin’s Reflection on His Divorce
The divorce was not only financially costly, but it also had a significant emotional toll on Kevin. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2012, Kevin said that his faith was shaken. He felt deeply saddened that his family unit had split. Kevin explained that no one wants their marriage to end, and it was challenging to see his children only half as much.
The Current Divorce Drama
Kevin has a prenuptial agreement in place with his second wife, Christine, and both parties had requested joint custody of their three children. However, the divorce has taken a turn for the worse as court documents claim that Christine is refusing to leave the family home, and Kevin says he is “homeless.” Christine’s lawyer, John Rydell, wrote in a court document that Kevin attempted to kick Christine and their three children out of the house, which the children have lived in for their entire lives.
According to their prenuptial agreement, Christine had 30 days to vacate the $145 million property they shared in Carpinteria, California, following her divorce filing on May 1. However, she has yet to leave the home, and Kevin wrote in his court documents that he was surprised and disheartened. He did not want to be left without a home base again, as he went through a similar situation during his previous divorce.
