Kelly Clarkson to Move Her Talk Show to New York City After Finding LA “Lonely”

Kelly Clarkson, the host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” has decided to move her show from Los Angeles to New York City. Recently, on the “Today” show, she expressed her unhappiness with living in LA, which has only been exacerbated by her divorce from Brandon Blackstock last year. She said that living in Los Angeles was “never her thing” and that she never wanted to live there in the first place. She felt isolated from her family and closest friends, who all live on the East Coast, and it became lonely for her and her children.

Clarkson’s Excitement for the Move

Clarkson is excited to move to New York City for the renewed season of her talk show. She recently spoke about her excitement during a SiriusXM Town Hall with Andy Cohen, saying that she had never lived in a city like New York before and was won over by it. She said that her life had been a “dumpster fire” in LA, and she was unhappy there. She called one of the network heads and asked about possibly moving the show to New York, and NBC was “highly supportive” of her decision. Clarkson’s children are also excited about the move and love taking the subway in the city.

Clarkson’s Divorce and Self-Improvement

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The exes had a bitter divorce battle that lasted for two years. Recently, on the “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast, Clarkson admitted that she stayed in her marriage much longer than she should have because she didn’t want to feel like a failure. However, in the end, she had to do what was best for herself so that she could be a better mother. She said that after the divorce, she became a far better mother because she became honest with herself and others.
