Indie Drama “Ctrl Alt Del” to Feature TikTok Star Jack Wright and Jesse Leigh in Their Film Acting Debut

TikTok star Jack Wright and Jesse Leigh, best known for their work in Rutherford Falls, are all set to make their feature film acting debut with the indie drama “Ctrl Alt Del”. The film will be directed by Kit Williamson, who will be making his feature directorial debut. The movie will also star Jason Priestley, Mena Suvari, Cheyenne Jackson, Elsie Fisher, Angel Parker, Shiv Pai, Laurel Marsden, and Navia Robinson.

Plot

The upcoming movie “Ctrl Alt Del” is a coming-of-age drama that will portray the story of Ava, a disaffected teenager, and her estranged filmmaker father Greyson. The plot of the film revolves around their journey to reconnect with each other after a tragic incident caused by Greyson’s latest movie. Jack Wright will portray the role of Jesse, the high school athlete and heartthrob, who is the best friend of Cameron, played by Shiv Pai. Jesse has a crush on Ava, and the feeling is mutual. Jesse Leigh, on the other hand, will be playing the role of Lin, a 16-year-old student who identifies as trans and is bullied at school.

The script of the movie is written by Amir Ohebsion and Arash Homampour. The former will also produce the movie along with Sam Okun, who produces the film under his Sam Okun Productions banner. Homampour will executive produce the film, with Nick Lyon, Lachlan Towle, Christian Jean, and Constantinos Yiallourides serving as co-producers. Wright is represented by Buchwald and Additive Creative, while Leigh is represented by AEFH, MC Talent Management, and Schreck Rose Dapello.

“Ulam: Main Dish” and “Joke Man” Documentary Updates

Freestyle Digital Media will release the Filipino food documentary “Ulam: Main Dish” on VOD on July 11. The documentary highlights the rise of Filipino cuisine, which was once considered the underdog among Asian cuisines. The documentary was chosen as the centerpiece screening for the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl in 2017 and went on to inspire chefs worldwide to open new Filipino restaurants. The movie is directed by Alexandra Cuerdo, who produced the film alongside John Floresca and Rey Cuerdo. Paul Puzon and Mia Manlunas served as executive producers.

Random Media has set the premiere date for its documentary “Joke Man” on comedian Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling. The movie will hit iTunes, Apple, and Amazon beginning July 18. The documentary directed and produced by Ian Karr follows Martling’s journey from his early days of comedy on Long Island to his success as an author, actor, and as the head writer of The Howard Stern Show for 18 years. Notables speaking on camera about what makes Martling unique include Willie Nelson, Penn Jillette, Artie Lang, Sean Young, and Mark Cuban. Ronni Thomas produced the film and also served as its editor.
