The Watermill Center’s annual summer benefit once again proved to be a hotbed of avant-garde artistry, attracting a diverse array of guests from various creative industries. The event, held at the sprawling Hamptons art center, featured a theme of “A Laboratory:100 Years of Experimentation,” paying homage to its roots as a onetime telecommunications laboratory.
Immersive Art Experiences
Throughout the 10-acre wooded property, guests were immersed in a sensory overload of performances and installations. From a man running on a treadmill in front of a block of ice to a performer holding a fake pig perched on a stand, the evening was filled with provocative and thought-provoking displays of creativity.
Artists at the event pushed the boundaries of traditional art forms, with performances ranging from crawling over sharp seashells to contorting themselves wrapped in cloth to resemble being in a bathtub.
