Amazon Prime Video Premieres Betty la Fea: The Story Continues

Amazon’s Prime Video has announced the highly anticipated premiere date for Betty la Fea: The Story Continues, a sequel to the beloved Colombian telenovela that inspired the hit ABC series, Ugly Betty. This new series is set to debut on July 19 in over 240 countries and territories around the world, much to the delight of eager fans.

The sequel will feature the talented Ana María Orozco reprising her iconic role as Betty, alongside Jorge Enrique Abello. Joining them are returning cast members including Julián Arango, Natalia Ramírez, Lorna Cepeda, Luces Velásquez, and many more. Additionally, new faces such as Rodrigo Candamil, Juanita Molin, Zharick León, and Sebastián Osorio will be introduced to the ensemble.

Betty la Fea: The Story Continues, produced by RCN Estudios for Prime Video, picks up the story of Beatriz Pinzón Solano 20 years after the original series concluded. Following the success of the original telenovela, Colombia’s RCN produced a sequel series in 2001, while ABC’s Ugly Betty starring America Ferrera enjoyed a four-season run. Telemundo recently ventured into its own adaptation with Betty in NY, featuring Elyfer Torres in the lead role.
