Altercation Between Britney Spears and NBA Player’s Security Team in Las Vegas

Las Vegas authorities have announced that no charges will be filed following an investigation into an altercation involving pop star Britney Spears and the security team of San Antonio Spurs rookie, Victor Wembanyama. The incident took place on July 5 in Las Vegas, and the police report states that Spears accidentally struck herself in the face when her arm was pushed away by the basketball player. Surveillance footage of the incident has surfaced on social media, confirming the sequence of events.

Initial Allegations and Police Report

When Britney Spears initially filed the police report, she accused the team’s director of security, Damian Smith, of battery. The singer, accompanied by her husband Sam Asghari, approached Wembanyama from behind and tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. She explained that she had seen him earlier in the day at the ARIA Hotel and wanted to say hello when she spotted him outside Catch restaurant. However, instead of a friendly interaction, Spears’ arm was forcefully pushed away by the security detail, causing her to inadvertently hit herself in the face.

Response on Social Media

Shortly after TMZ reported the incident, Britney Spears took to social media to share a statement with her fans. She expressed her shock at the traumatic experience and emphasized that such incidents are unfortunately not uncommon for her. Spears also highlighted the importance of treating all individuals with respect, especially those in the public eye, and encouraged others to set a positive example.

Victor Wembanyama, also known as Wemby, addressed the incident without directly mentioning Britney Spears. He claimed that he did not witness the altercation as he was walking straight and was instructed not to stop. According to Wembanyama, someone grabbed him from behind, prompting the security team to push the person away. He continued on his way without pausing and proceeded to enjoy a pleasant dinner.

Wembanyama, a 19-year-old French player, was selected as the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. Standing at an impressive height of seven feet and five inches (2.26 meters), he is currently the tallest active player in the NBA for the 2023-2024 season and ranks as the ninth tallest player of all time. The Spurs’ first game of the season is scheduled for July 7, 2023, against the Charlotte Hornets at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
