A Fresh Face Joins Law & Order’s 23rd Season as a Series Regular

Law & Order fans, get ready for a new addition to the upcoming 23rd season. Reid Scott, known for his roles in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Veep, will be joining the hit NBC police procedural as a series regular. He is set to portray a yet-to-be-named NYPD detective, bringing a fresh perspective to the show.

Reid Scott’s character will be filling the void left by Jeffrey Donovan, who recently departed from the series due to creative differences. Donovan had portrayed Det. Frank Cosgrove in the previous two seasons of the show, bringing his own unique flair to the role. Now, it’s Scott’s turn to make his mark and captivate audiences with his portrayal of a dedicated NYPD detective.

This is not the first detective change on the Law & Order revival. In season 21, Anthony Anderson, reprising his role as Det. Kevin Bernard from the show’s original run, bid farewell to the series. He was succeeded by Mehcad Brooks, who joined the cast in season 22 as Frank’s new partner, Jalen Shaw. These changes bring a dynamic shift to the show’s lineup, keeping audiences on their toes and refreshing the storytelling.

Law & Order boasts an impressive ensemble cast that contributes to its success. Alongside Reid Scott, the series stars Sam Waterston as District Attorney Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy as senior prosecutorial assistant Nathan Price, and Camryn Manheim as Lt. Kate Dixon. Each member of the cast brings their own talent and experience to their respective roles, ensuring that viewers are in for a captivating and compelling 23rd season.

Law & Order fans won’t have to wait much longer for the highly anticipated 23rd season. The show is set to premiere on January 18, 2024, and is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. With a talented cast and exciting new additions like Reid Scott, the upcoming season promises to deliver the suspenseful and thought-provoking storytelling that fans have come to expect from the iconic Law & Order franchise.

Aside from joining Law & Order, Reid Scott has been keeping busy with other projects. He recently starred in the fifth and final season of the Emmy-winning series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Scott can also be seen in the “Daphne” episode of the FX anthology series American Horror Stories. His previous work includes a seven-season stint on the Emmy-winning comedy Veep, where he showcased his comedic prowess.

Reid Scott’s talent extends beyond acting. He has also ventured into producing, taking on projects such as the pandemic comedy Who Invited Charlie?, in which he stars and serves as an executive producer. Additionally, Scott recently wrapped production on the Amazon film Idea of You, alongside Anne Hathaway and under the direction of Michael Showalter. With his diverse range of skills, Scott continues to make a name for himself in the industry.
